CHIP work group meeting: Social Environment/ Age at First Use

September 23, 2021 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

This is a meeting of the group focused on delaying the age at first use of addictive substances for all youth, with a focus on LGBTQ youth, youth of color, youth from families with low incomes, and youth involved with the Department of Children and Families.

This meeting will coincide with a Communities That Care Coalition (CTC) Coordinating Council meeting. CTC programs are a big part of our work group’s action plan. The CTC Coordinating Council is their steering committee, and it includes representatives from many of the organizations in the CHIP Network and several members of this work group.

The agenda includes planning for an upcoming (Oct 22) Coalition Meeting, discussion about candidates for the Mike Fritz Community Builder (which will be given at the 10/22 coalition meeting), information about staffing updates and a CTC website reboot, plus program updates, including hopefully the Racial Justice in Schools project (a CTC-led project), Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County, and Community Action Pioneer Valley Youth Programs and Workforce Development.

The Coordinating Council meeting officially starts at 11, and some Coordinating Council members will need to leave at noon. You are welcome to join from the start or to pop in midway, and to stay for part or all of the time.
