The Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) seeks a charismatic, resilient, and enthusiastic individual to join our emergency preparedness program. The emergency preparedness program supports the FRCOG, its members and partners, and the W. MA Health and Medical Coalition, in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from, natural and manmade disasters and emerging infectious disease.

The FRCOG’s mission is to foster a vibrant, sustainable region for all, and to leverage resources that promote collaboration and efficiency within our member communities. We do this by providing advocacy, planning, and cooperative services – both proactively and in direct response to our member communities’ needs.  Our employees are people with different strengths, experiences, and backgrounds, who share a passion for that mission.

The right person for this job possesses the flexibility to engage with a variety of day-to-day assignments, a willingness to learn, and a strong interest in planning regionally for all-hazard emergency management, for climate adaptation, and for local and regional resilience. Candidates with an aptitude in building and maintaining relationships with different groups/coalitions and government partners is strongly desired. This position will regularly contact FRCOG partners, work on a variety of different preparedness projects and tasks, and occasionally present to groups.

Three years of experience in emergency management, regional planning, public health, public administration, or equivalent work; or a Bachelor’s Degree in planning, public health, emergency management, public administration; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. This position is 37.5 hours per week with the potential for hybrid work options. Requires 1-2 evening or weekend meetings/week and 24/7 on-call duties approx. 1 week/mo. Hourly pay range starts at $28.50, with final salary offer based on experience. Excellent benefits.
