A Complete Street is one that provides safe and accessible options for all travel modes–walking, biking, transit, and vehicles–for people of all ages and abilities.

The FRCOG staff has assisted the towns of Buckland, Colrain, Erving, Gill, Montague, Northfield, and Whately in compiling Complete Streets Prioritization Plans as part of the Massachusetts Complete Streets Funding Program.

By completing a Complete Streets Prioritization Plan, Towns become eligible to apply for funding to construct the improvements identified in the Plan. Towns can apply for up to $500,000 per 4-year cycle for construction funding through the Massachusetts Complete Streets Funding Program.

Towns can also apply for funding for planning assistance to compile their Complete Streets Prioritization Plan.

Below are links to Story Maps that show the projects identified in the Buckland, Colrain, Erving, Montague, Northfield, and Whately plans.

These reports undertake a complete streets analysis. The concept of the “complete street” is that the roadway has safe access for all users including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders.…
