The Regional Brownfields Steering Committee provides guidance and oversight to the FRCOG’s Regional Brownfields Program, as funded by competitive grant awards to the FRCOG from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Committee establishes site selection criteria, and approves sites included in the program and prioritizes them for environmental site assessment activity or clean-up resources, when available. The Committee membership includes representatives from municipalities, Greenfield Cooperative Bank, Greenfield Savings Bank, Community Action of Franklin Hampshire & North Quabbin Regions, Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, Franklin County Community Development Corporation, Franklin County Regional Housing & Redevelopment Authority, Mohawk Area Public Health Coalition, EPA Region 1 and MassDEP Western Office.
